Not-So-Random Excellence: John Kennerdell

If I was to try Mike's one lens and camera for a year it would be the K-5 and the 35mm. I would say that 80% of my pictures from the Pentax were with the 35mm. It—the Pentax version—was one of two lenses I took to France for our 30-day stay, along with a 17–135mm zoom. Certainly one of the two most impressive designed-for-digital lenses I've used (the other is the Olympus 50mm macro) and better both technically and aesthetically than the Canon 35/2, which itself is no slouch. It's one of the best lenses you can buy for digital photography, regardless of maker, regardless of price. I snapped up the 35 f/2. 8 DA Macro for my 20D. When Carl and Mike first wrote about it I was in the process of changing from Canons to Pentaxes. It was so good that I kept my T2i because it weighs so little and got the Tokina version for it. Half of the cameras sold in Spain are less than 100 Euros and 70% of the total is lower than 150 Euros. These data show that the number of people who acquires an advanced camera is less than half a million annually, although the turnover is high. 3 million units, similar to last year, but with increased demand for interchangeable lens and compact cameras. Canon’s marketing director, Julian Garcia, revealed that one gets more accurate picture quality with a good lens and a powerful processor. D60 is a great choice. It is very easy to use and provides excellent images without requiring a lot of technical knowledge.Pictures are better and sharper.

How to change film and batteries on a Pentax zoom 90 wr camera?!?

I am using my dad's film camera for a photo class. He went away for business and didn't tell me how to change the batteries and film of this camera. I know where the button is to open the back but it wont open. or maybe that wasn't the button?

You have to rewind the film before you open the camera. Some cameras have a crank, others have a motor to rewind it.

Are Pentax Digital SLRs good cameras?

You can also use every Pentax K-mount manual focus and auto focus lens made since 1975 with a Pentax DSLR. Pentax has their version of Image Stabilization in the camera body so every lens you use will have that benefit. The Pentax K10D and K20D have gotten good reviews. Canon glass has a tendency to be less expensive than Olympus, Nikon, and Pentax so feeding the need for more photography gear (in my case my addiction to new lenses) can be a bit easier on you budget. If you are willing to hunt for those older Pentax lenses, you will have a great time with awesome quality bargain equipment. In the long run, the bang for the buck in the camera body will be beat in the bang for the buck in the lens category. I just wish my old FD lens worked on my EOS bodies. You can probably find better prices on the K10D since its “only” 10 megapixel and the K20D is 14....

Canon intros new EOS 550D consumer DSLR camera

You'll be able to take control of exposure settings, depth of field and degree of motion blur, as well as independent highlight tone priority control (which doesn't change the still image capture settings) while recording video. Canon has changed the ratio from 4:3 to 3:2, while leaving the resolution at 1,024k dots - this makes sense, as it allows the user to view 100 per cent captured images without the letterbox. It records video with full manual control in 1080p full HD at 30, 25 and 24fps, as well as offering 720p at 60 and 50fps. 5mm stereo microphone jack, allowing you to connect an external microphone, and an HDMI port that allows you to view images from your camera on an HDTV using the TV's remote. Full HD video recording was first introduced on the EOS 5D Mark II, but has been improved further on the EOS 550D. It also means that the interface has had to undergo a number of changes in Live View/Movie mode and playback mode, with the information now overlaid on top. This......
