When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, which is way easier to do if you have four hands.

When I woke up one morning to find an extra set of hands had grown out of my stomach, I didn’t ask why or how. I just said, this is what the universe has given me and dangit, I’m going to make the most of it! And man has it been great! I can carry in all the groceries in one trip. I can hold the phone to my ear while I’m busy chopping onions. And best of all, I can take pictures without having to drop everything to fish my camera out of my fanny pack!

If 2011 was good, then 2012 is going to be GREAT...

I spent some time yesterday thinking about what I wanted to achieve this year and it got me thinking about what I achieved last year.   It is a Panasonic Lumix GF1 (nicknamed Geoff) and I absolutely love it.   It came with a 14m - 45mm lens and I have since bought a carbon fibre tripod, a 45mm - 200mm lens and various filters and bits and bobs.   I had a super exciting year last year filled with trips from Istanbul to America, from UK to South Africa. January:  The first highlight of my year, playing with my new camera.   The highlight of course, well, there were 2 actually, the day I resigned and the day I left work.   My first big outing with my new toy was to Kloster Arnsburg, north of Frankfurt in Germany.   My favourite travel accessory....

Panasonic Lumix FH20 Camera Review

My review on the Panasonic FH20 camera.

I originally posted this "memory card review" on Amazon's Lumix DMC FH20 page. The biggest difference in the two cameras seems to be the increase in resolution to 16 MP on the FH25 (from the 14 MP on the FH20) and the vastly improved AF (auto focus) update that, according to Panasonic, focuses approximately 42% faster. Thought that it might be relevant here too since the FH25 (2011) is an update to the FH20 (2010). Special note: my initial reason in deciding to write this review was because Amazon was doing a disservice to its customers by listing a Kingston "Class 4" card in its "Frequently Bought Together" section of this camera. But a Class 4 card will only be good for shooting still photos with this camera. If you want to shoot video (which this camera does excellently), then you must absolutely use a Class 6 card or higher (better)....
