You want to forget the close up diopters and go when you buy an ND, you buy a higher density filter. The only ones that really are worth the purchase;

UV filter - I use this on all my lenses, purely as a lens protector.

In the hope that the filter is the general scope of photography to improve, is a misconception

Of the four filters that can only increase the polarization filter some photos.

You only need two filters: a UV and a polarizer. The UV is used only by the glass from dust, scratches, protect, etc. For example, I let my lens once and destroyed during the UV, the lens was stored in glass bottom.

Jens

To clarify, no UV filter, the description that says if you're shooting, but not on digital cameras - because DSLR sensors is insensitive to UV light as film.

The only thing you should invest the thinking is the polarizer.
